Another reason is very similar. We idolize the celebrities that are wearing the styles. Even if it is not something that these people would wear in real life, it is something that they do wear in the movies. Because of this, people will want to wear similar items. The movie itself may even be a flop, but if a famous celebrity brought out a new type of fashion in the movie, this may stick.
