It is always exciting to see what is going to be the thing to wear in the upcoming season. For spring 2011 we are going to be seeing a lot of retro looks and flashbacks to the 70′s. There are also going to be a lot of twists on some classic styles.
One look that was on the runways was a modern western look. This is not the traditional cowgirl western wear, but a classic modern take on it. Whites and khaki’s are paired with leather belts and other leather accessories to give it a western look. If you are daring and love western wear you can also match it with a purse that has a fringe made from suede.
If you like stripes you will also be right on target this spring. The runway was full of horizontal stripes made from bright bold colors. These stripes were wide and included colors such as orange, yellow, and bright kelly greens. The stripes can be found on summer dresses, but with varying widths to keep you from looking like you just walked out of prison.
The nautical look is also back this spring. The bold colored stripes in navy and white are showing it, but it is also coming out in the neutral colors with motifs focusing on anchors. You will trim made from ropes to give the clothes a nautical look along with rope belts. Accessories are also going nautical, pendants that look like anchors and necklaces made out of rope were also seen on the runway.
