We all have days where our style just doesn’t work out. One would think that the celebrities that we idolize would be different, since they tend to have personal stylists, and people who help them take care of these things. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. In fact, at a time where they most definitely should look their best, many celebrities are pulling crazy fashion stunts that leave us in awe. And not the good kind of awe.
When heading to a premier, or anywhere for that matter, you may want to wear something that doesn’t look like you just climbed out of the shower. Unfortunately, it seems that Mary Kate Olsen didn’t get this memo. In 2008, she showed herself in one of the most unflattering dresses that must have ever been made. This shapeless piece looks a lot like a bathrobe. At least we can assume her hair was washed!
Swans are awesome animals, but Bjork joins the list of some for the most ridiculous red carpet disasters with her swan dress in 2001. Luckily, she later auctioned the dress for a charity, but it is a notable red carpet disaster.
Hilary Swank is generally seen as a celebrity with a good head on her shoulders, and great style on her body. But in 2003 she made a red carpet oops with a Christian Dior dress. Not only did this dress look exactly like a ballerina costume, she even had the ballet shoes to go with it. This would be great for a costume party, but not for the red carpet.
Though there are many more that could easily be added to this list, these are some of the more out there red carpet disasters in the last ten years. Of course, there will continue to be red carpet faux pas, but these seem to be able to stand the test of time.
